This is my daughter's first year in school during Christmas. What's the etiquette on Christmas gifts? What do I give the teacher for Christmas? Do I give her a gift?!  Do I give her classmates a token gift too? If so, any ideas?

It depends on the classrooms rules.  We've always boughten for Madison's teachers.  She had 3 so I spend less if she only had one.

I usually only give the teachers gifts.  One that I found last year and absolutely loved was a gift certificate from Restaurants.com.  You can find a restaurant in the area and print out a gift certificate.  The best thing is that you can get a $25 gift certificate for $10 (and sometimes for $4 when they have a special going!).  I started doing that last year and the teachers loved it.

Here is another money saver:  Starting November 15th you can go to www.theshoppingvalet.com and earn 2% cash back on all of your online purchases.  No contract, no fees, no catch at all. You just need to register.  Restaurant.com is one of the thousands of stores on this portal (listed under Shop Partners) and you can not only get the incredible deals from Restaurant.com, but you are earning that cash back for yourself with any of your online purchases.  I am going to be doing the bulk majority of my Christmas shopping online this year to take advantage of this.

 Is it nap time yet?

My favorite teacher gift is a Target giftcard. Haven't met a teacher yet who doesn't shop at Target!

Thanks Lisa!

What's a good amount to put on the gift card?

If you guys need gift certificates for Christmas, let me know!  We sell them for my daughter's school and the school gets a percentage of the amount (depending on the store).

Private message me and I'll get this set up.  I just need to know which store, so I can make sure it's on our list.

We often get together as a class and pool our money to get a gift card for our teachers.  It's nice that they get a big gift and it gives the other Moms one less person to shop for.  To make it more personal though we usually have the kids contribute in some way.  One year we compiled a list of all the student's favorite moments from the year with the parents help and made a little book with them for the teacher.

Awwh, that is so nice! I would love to do something like that but I've only met one parent so far.
